signatures: E. Ky & A. Fadiga

* When Oberthur started producing the 500 and 1.000 Francs notes dated 1981, the print rotors for the first three digits of the serial number were stuck on zero. At least half of these denominations dated 1981 are error notes with the first three digits of the serial number as zeros.
the correct number of the above note should read: 192056195

Block A-Z.1 - A-Z.7 = 175.000.000
+ Block A-Q.8 = 17.000.000
+ 56.195
= 192.056.195

Remark:
This signature combination has appeared on two separate occasions because A. Kone served twice as President of the Council of Ministers:
first for a brief period in 1977, and then for a full term in 1988-89. This causes confusion over catalog listings, which are in signature order. The 1988-89 signature Kone/Fadiga issues thus precedes the 1981 signature Ky/Fadiga notes in the catalog, which is contrary to the real chronology.
