Isle of Pines is located southeast of New Caledonia.
Prepared in 1848 for Captain Robert Towns (1794-1873), who had a commercial establishment for the trade of sandalwood on Isle of Pines and thought that the English would take possession of the island and thus a banknote resembling an English issue would be recognized as the official currency of the island.
Not issued; remainders only do exist
