Remark

These notes were cut in half.
Due to the shortage of 5-Drachmai coins, notes of 10 Drachmai (GREECE P-30, GREECE P-37, GREECE P43 & GREECE P-46) were cut in half and both halves were used as 5 Drachmai notes. After the issue of a 5 Drachmai note (GREECE P-42) in 1897 this practice was prohibited by law. Respective clauses were stamped (GREECE P-43) or printed (GREECE P-46) on notes issued after 1897 ("ΑΠΑΓΟΡΕΥΕΤΑΙ ΝΑ ΚΟΠΤΩΝΤΑΙ ΕΙΣ ΔΥΟ ΝΟΜΟΣ ΒΥΧΑ" - It is prohibited by law to cut in two pieces).
However, cutting of 10-Drachmai notes was continued until ca. 1910, when the demand of this value was finally covered with the issue of sufficient quantities of another 5-Drachmai note (GREECE P-54) in 1905.
